Mostly Melodies vol. 1 is a retrospective on 149 compositions written over the past 50 years for many ensembles — including Trio Clusone (with Han Bennink and Ernst Reijseger), the horn group Available Jelly, the Bering trio (with Mark Helias & Fred Hersch), the Fragile Quartet (with Harmen Fraanje, Clemens van der Feen & Michael Vatcher), the Osiris Quintet (with Eric Vloeimans, Marc van Roon, Paul Berner & Owen Hart, Jr.), and the NDR big band. About 25 of the pieces have never been recorded. All the pieces are in concert key and are open to interpretation by all kinds of ensembles.
